Costco is a one-stop shop for everything from groceries to electronics, and it’s not just for bulk shopping or stocking up on household essentials. Since New Zealand’s first Costco opened it’s become one of my favorite places to visit – and I loved the US Costco stores too when I visited the USA recently. You can find pretty much everything you need at Costco – but can you find love? Believe it or not, I think you can. Lots of single people go to Costco, and Costco is also a fun and unique place to go on a date! Here are some things to consider when planning a date (or looking for one) at your local Costco warehouse.

To access Costco, you’ll need a membership, which starts at $60 a year. If you’re just planning on going on a single date, it might not be worth it to buy a membership just for that. However, if you’re planning on going on more dates or making Costco a regular part of your life, it could be worth it.

Costco is known for its vast selection of items, including a variety of samples available for customers to try. This can make for a fun and interactive date, as you can try new and exciting food and drink options. Just be prepared to do some walking, as the warehouse can be quite large.

With all of the food options available at Costco, why not plan a picnic in the park? Pack a basket with your favorite snacks, drinks, and lunch items, and head to a nearby park or scenic area. You can enjoy a leisurely meal, surrounded by nature and each other’s company. The Costco food court has cheap takeaway pizzas, chips, soft drinks, and other items that you can supplement your picnic food with.

Some Costco locations offer cooking classes (note: these are not yet happening in the New Zealand Costco store), which can be a fun and educational experience for couples. Whether you’re a seasoned cook or a beginner, these classes can provide you with new and exciting recipes to try at home.

With the wide selection of games and electronics available at Costco, you can plan a fun-filled game night. Choose from a variety of board games, video games, and even outdoor games. You can challenge each other and enjoy each other’s company in a competitive and lighthearted way. Technically this is not a date at Costco – you’d obviously have to take the games home and play them there.

Take a leisurely walk around the Costco warehouse and check out all the different departments. You can browse electronics, clothing, jewelry, and more. Who knows, you might even find something you want to purchase for each other or for your home.

Costco can be a unique and practical destination for a date if shopping and crowds are your things. With its vast selection of items, food samples, and aisles of value to explore, you can have a fun and interactive experience with your significant other. Just remember to bring your membership card and prepare to do some browsing and lots of walking. Enjoy your date at Costco! I hope you will find love there!
